Venture was selected by Make-A-Wish to build their new Seattle office space in 2014, and our partnership with this organization has continued to evolve in the years since. We are proud to have granted 7 children’s wishes, fundraised more than $180k amongst our staff and partners, and provided in-kind construction services for a few very special home projects.
Mary’s Place provides safe, inclusive shelter and services to support women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. We are proud to have partnered with them in a variety of capacities since 2015. Our work with Mary’s Place includes annual gift drives, back to school supply fundraising, and providing snack packs for kids to open after school.
Venture is a founding member of Construct Diversity, a group of like-minded companies and individuals committed to bringing a higher level of racial and gender diversity to construction and related businesses. The goal is to give inner city high school youth visibility to what career paths are available to them and to make it known that they are welcome, wanted and needed regardless of color or gender. We are aiming to instill hope, focus, trust and desire with regard to pursuing these various career paths. We believe the inclusion is where diversity begins.
Through this program, Venture staff adopts a student for two hours once a week with students rotating through every month with the goal to introduce inner city students to all of the career opportunities that are available to them in construction. This includes everything from project management and field operations to accounting, safety and business development, but also trades and fabrication
